Coffee tables in Fuengirola: choosing around your sofa and living room

Grey coffee table in front of a pale sofa in a catalogue setting

A coffee table can bring a living room together or become the obstacle you walk around on every trip to the terrace. For your home in Fuengirola, start with the sofa, the routes through the room and what you need the table to do. Choose the finish afterwards.

These catalogue photographs offer ideas for proportions and arrangements. The complete settings are not being offered as packages or presented as completed client projects.

Try the space from your sofa

Sit in the places you normally use and check where it feels comfortable to put down a cup or book. A table can be perfectly centred on a rug but too far from the seat. With a chaise longue or corner sofa, draw the space left between the seats as well.

Make a paper outline of the proposed tabletop and place it on the floor. Test it with the people who use the room: stand up, walk towards the window and carry a tray through. There is no single gap that works for every household; circulation and individual mobility needs belong in the decision.

Compare the table with the actual space inside your sofa arrangement, rather than the room width alone.

Table shape and room for your feet

A rectangular table can sit naturally alongside a long sofa. A round one changes how you move around it, although its full diameter still takes up floor space. When comparing shapes, draw the entire outline: a visually light design does not necessarily have a small footprint.

Look at the position of the legs or central support too. The space beneath the top matters when you move your feet, clean around it or sit on a low seat. Check the overall dimensions and height against your own sofa.

One table, smaller side tables or open floor space?

If you only need somewhere for a cup, a side table beside your seat may do the job. If the middle of the room is used for games, books or a shared tray, a central surface may be more useful. Before choosing several pieces, decide where each one will live when it is not being used.

In a living room that opens onto a terrace, keep a clear route from the entrance. For a narrow space, our guide to arranging a long living room in Fuengirola helps you position the main furniture before adding a table.

Look at the table within the whole room: seating, TV storage and routes need to work together.

Work with the furniture you already own

The table does not have to match the TV unit exactly. A shared tone, shape or detail can connect the pieces while other surfaces provide contrast. Compare samples alongside your floor and sofa; a screen photograph cannot confirm a colour or texture.

If you are updating the room gradually, explore our ideas for refreshing a living room while keeping furniture.
