How to arrange a long living room in Fuengirola

Catalogue living room with a pale sofa, TV unit and green and wood storage

When planning a long living room in Fuengirola, start with the route through it: entering, sitting down, opening a door and reaching the terrace without weaving around furniture. The aim is a balanced seating area with comfortable access, even when one wall is much longer than the other.

We have selected three catalogue images to compare living room arrangements. They offer inspiration; dimensions, finishes and availability are confirmed for each enquiry. Find this selection's references in our furniture gallery.

Map the route to the window or terrace first

Draw the entrance, door swings and furniture you intend to keep. If the route crosses the seating area, try moving the coffee table or keeping one side clear. A sofa needs to work with the way you use the room as well as fit against a wall.

A practical check is to mark furniture footprints on the floor with paper tape suitable for that surface. Walk through the space and allow for opening drawers. This lets you compare two arrangements before deciding. Our furniture measurement guide explains what to include in your sketch.

Compare furniture depth as well as width

In a narrow room, a small difference in depth changes the space in front of the sofa. Check the full depth of the TV unit, including handles and projecting details. Then consider what happens when you open a door or drawer.

A low arrangement can leave more wall visible. If you need taller storage, consider where to place it without gathering every large piece near the entrance. Photographs help you compare proportions; the final arrangement depends on your room's measurements.

Define different uses with furniture and lighting

In a shared living and dining room, place each area where it is easiest to use. Dining chairs need room to pull out, while the seating area needs a clear route around it. A rug or lamp can help distinguish the two areas without adding a dividing unit.

Before placing a console or armchair in an empty corner, decide what you need it for. Keeping some space open can make the arrangement easier to use. If your project also includes dining furniture, explore our guide to planning a small living and dining room.

Check the room from your seat

  • Consider screen position and reflections at different times of day.
  • Keep sockets accessible and plan the route for cables.
  • Decide where to put a drink or book without blocking the walkway.
  • Allow for opening doors, curtains and drawers before finalising the selection.

If you are keeping some furniture, our guide to refreshing your living room with the pieces you love can help you bring old and new together.
