Headboards and bedside tables for your Fuengirola bedroom

Grey upholstered headboard and pink textiles at MÁXIMO’s La Cala showroom

When planning a bedroom for your home in Fuengirola, consider the headboard and bedside tables together: available width, bed height, sockets and room to move. Finishes matter, but so do the place you put your phone, the space to open a drawer and the light you use for reading.

This guide uses three displays photographed at MÁXIMO’s showroom in La Cala de Mijas. They provide examples for comparing different arrangements. Our shop is in La Cala; these are showroom photographs, rather than completed projects in clients’ Fuengirola homes.

A wooden headboard: connect its lines with the bedside furniture

A wood finish with vertical lines can provide a starting point for the other materials. In the photographed display, pale bedside furniture and textiles accompany the headboard. Look at the relationship between the fronts without assuming every piece needs to repeat the same material.

If you are keeping a chest of drawers, photograph its finish alongside the bed. The combination needs to work with that actual piece, as well as with the new furniture you are considering. Explore other bedroom arrangements to identify the layout you prefer.

A coloured headboard: choose the main visual feature

Another bedroom in the shop pairs a mustard headboard with white bedside tables and pale bedding. This introduces colour through one main element. If your existing curtains or rug have a strong pattern, compare them before adding another prominent feature.

Bedside tables can relate through height, material or shape without being identical. Consider whether both sides need the same storage and whether each person can comfortably reach the surface from the bed.

An upholstered headboard: consider depth, texture and care

The third display combines a grey upholstered headboard, a pale surround and pink textiles. Compare its presence on the wall with the other options. A headboard may extend beyond the mattress, and a decorative surround takes up space too. Ask for the dimensions of the complete arrangement.

For upholstery, check the composition and care instructions of your chosen fabric. If you intend to sit against the headboard while reading, consider its shape and intended use rather than judging comfort from its padded appearance alone.

Check the bedroom in everyday use

  • The combined width of bed, headboard and bedside furniture.
  • Bed height with the mattress in place.
  • Space to open the wardrobe, doors and drawers.
  • Sockets, switches and lamp positions.
  • Routes around the bed and access to windows.

These details make comparisons more useful. Our furniture measurement checklist explains how to prepare a sketch. For the finishing touches, see our guide to curtains and cushions.
